Weekend Online Tournaments Squeak by Guarantees
August 26, 2021
The two biggest online poker sites, PokerStars and FullTilt Poker, both had technically successful Sundays over the weekend, each surpassing their guarantees for their keystone events.

The PokerStars Sunday Million, which offers a guaranteed prize pool of $1.5 Million, had 7,557 players sign up to play. Given the cost of the event is $200 (plus entrance fee), this meant PokerStars only eclipsed their guarantee by $11,400. Remarkably, Full Tilt Poker cut it even closer still, their $750,000 guarantee main event had 3,752 entrants, which created a prize pool of $750,400, passing the guarantee by a mere two players.

The winners of these events certainly had plenty to take home, despite the slightly smaller fields. Both Main Event winners walked away with over $125,000. The winner of the Full Tilt Poker $750,000 guaranteed was "ship hamilton" who earned $132,858.32 after beating online player "6speed" heads-up. The PokerStars Million winner was "NFrost_10" who, after a deal was struck between him and the second place finisher, won $170,900.91.

The final table finish positions for both these events were as follows:
