So you think you know tournament poker? You follow the World Poker Tour, the World Series Of Poker Circuit, possibly even the Heartland Poker Tour. You've read about the EPT and the WSOP Europe, the LIPS, the High Heels, maybe you can even tell the difference between the Asian Poker Tour and the Asian Pacific Poker Tour. Well, it seems in the ever expanding world of tournament poker there's always one more tour to follow, and today it's the Partouche Poker Tour.

The Partouche Poker Tour Cannes Main Event is an event worth taking notice of. France's biggest ever Poker Tournament, it has multiple Day 1's, a EUR2,000,000 guaranteed prize pool and a list of internationally renowned poker players competing for it's riches, which on Day 1a included Gus Hansen, Chris "Jesus" Ferguson, Dario Minieri, Jason Mercier, and Scotty "we play this game wait for cocktail?!" Nguyen.

Ferguson, Minieri, and Mercier unfortunately didn't survive the day. Hansen, in his regular impossibly aggressive style, ended the day with a big stack within striking distance of the chip lead. It should be interesting to see as the week progresses whether Gus can add a Partouche title, to his already long list of stellar poker accomplishments.
