Alain Roy Scores In Cannes

France's Partouche Poker Tour Cannes Main Event came to an end yesterday with the crowning of its new champion, Frenchman Alain Roy. Roy, arguably the Chris Moneymaker of France, gained entry into this event through a EUR125 satellite and improbably outlasted 479 players over four tough days of play - players that included Scotty Nguyen, Gus Hansen, Robert and Michael Mizrachi, Chris "Jesus" Ferguson, Dario Minieri, and lastly Claudio Rinaldi, who he defeated heads-up to earn himself an impressive first prize of $1,426,645.
