Star-Studded Field Fights in ?2,500 H.O.R.S.E
September 23, 2021
Event #2 of the World Series of Poker Europe, the ?2,500 H.O.R.S.E, attracted an international field of poker's biggest celebrities including Phil Hellmuth, Doyle Brunson, John Juanda, Mike "The Mouth" Matusow, Daniel Negreanu, Gus Hansen, Patrik Antonious, Barry Greenstein. Phil Ivey is also in the field, hoping to make the debate over whether or not the WSOPE bracelets count toward his bracelet bets a relevant one.

This 110 entrant field was definitely one of the toughest in recent memory, and despite creating a total prize pool of ?275,000 (nearly $511,000 USD ), all but a small percentage of these high powered players would eventually have to hit the rail empty handed. After two and a half days of play, some that already faced that reality include Jeff Madsen, Jean-Robert Bellande, Brandon Cantu, John Phan, Chad Brown, Antonius, Papa Bear Greenstein, and "the Mouth."

There are only four major bracelet events in this year's WSOP-E, and with the first one already claimed, there is little doubt that everyone still involved in Event #2 wants this next one to be theirs. Just a few of the big name players still in the hunt include Howard Lederer, Max Pescatori, Isaac Haxton, Robert Williamson III, Mark Gregorich, Daniel Negreanu, Gus Hansen, Phil Hellmuth and the current chip leader (as of this writing) Phil Ivey.
