September 24, 2021
Day 2 of of the ?2,500 H.O.R.S.E. event, at the 2008 World Series of Poker Europe saw 56 players reduced down to 11. Given the amazing, star-studded field that entered the event, nearly all of the 45 players that busted were well known pros including Isaac Haxton, David Williams, Gus Hansen, Robert Williamson III, PokerRoad's Daniel Negreanu, Joe Beevers, Andy Bloch and Kelly Kim (1/9th of the 2008 WSOP final table).

Phil Hellmuth entered Day 2 with one of the biggest stacks and using his standard patient style, was almost able to take that stack all the way to the final table. Unfortunately for Hellmuth, after a long day of play he busted just short in 12th place for ?6,188. With the elimination of Hellmuth, the final 11 players were set, with "The Professor" Howard Lederer leading the pack with a stack of 208,500 in tournament chips and poker legend Phil Ivey not far behind with 114,000.

The final 11 players of the 2008 WSOPE Event #2 were as follows:

Howard Lederer 208,500
Sherkhan Farnood 141,500
Yuval Bronshtein 133,500
