WCOOP Main Event

The Pokerstars.com World Championship of Online Poker came to an end on Monday, with Carter "ckingusc" King taking down the Main Event title. The WCOOP Main Event attracted 2,185 players, despite a relatively hefty buy-in of $5,000 + $200, and created a total prize pool worth $10,925,000. Many well known internet and live tournament pros made it deep into the event including Ryan "Daut44" Daut (34th), Alex "august35" Kostritsyn (23rd), Dustin "neverwin" Woolf (43rd) and Bertrand "ElkY" Grosspellier (21st.).

The WCOOP Main Event Final Table saw five players earn more than $750,000, after a deal was agreed to following the elimination of online player "Sumpas." With the deal in place, the top money finisher was "liberace," who earned $1,375,249 for second place despite losing to "ckingusc" heads-up. Carter "ckingusc" King earned $1,265,432 for winning the 2008 PokerStars WCOOP Main Event.
