Sherkhan Farnood Wins The H.O.R.S.E
September 25, 2021
The second 2008 World Series of Poker Europe bracelet was awarded yesterday to Sherkhan Farnood after taking down a tough final table in Event #2, the ?2,500 H.O.R.S.E. Farnood earned ?76,999 for the first place finish, an amount equal to nearly $142,000 in US dollars.

A WSOPE tournament win is impressive on its own, but given the caliber of players at this final table, it is utterly astounding. To take the title, Farnood had to outlast top players like Jeffrey Lisandro, Mark Gregorich, Phil Ivey, and the chip leader at the start of the final table, the legendary "Professor" Howard Lederer. This was Farnood's first WSOP bracelet and only the second ever awarded to a native of Afghanistan.

The Final Table finish positions for the 2008 WSOPE Event #2 were as follows:

1st. Sherkhan Farnood- ?76,999
2nd. Ivo Donev- ?48,125
3rd. Howard Lederer- ?30,250
4th. Jeff Duvall- ?22,000
5th. Mark Gregorich- ?17,188
6th. Phil Ivey- ?13,750
7th. Jeffrey Lisandro- ?11,000
8th. Spencer Lawrence- ?8,938
