Domain Seizure Temporarily Halted
September 29, 2021
Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear's plan to seize 141 domain names related to online gaming has been suspended for the time being, thanks to a continuance ordered by Kentucky Judge Thomas Wingate, who described the pending case as "very complex."

The continuance, which will last until early October, is seen as a step in the right direction for pro online poker advocates like the Poker Players Alliance, who believe it will give the court a chance to review all the relevant facts of the case and not just those pushed forward by the Governor's office. With this continuance, the current domain owners will retain the rights of ownership and will be able to continue business as usual, at least for the time being.
