Indictments Are In For Borgata Chinese Poker Cheats
October 3, 2021
Four men, James Harrison, Joseph Ingargiola, Stephen Phillips, and Steven Forte, have been indicted after attempting to cheat high rollers in an Atlantic City Borgata hotel room.

The four con artists actually rented two rooms in the Borgata - one to entertain guests as they played high stakes Chinese poker, backgammon and Chess; and the other to run sophisticated surveillance equipment and computers to help the men cheat the guests they were playing.

According to New Jersey authorities, the suspects were apprehended and the equipment was seized well before their plan had a chance of scamming any victims. The four men are being charged with second-degree attempted theft by deception, a charge which carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison.

One of the suspects, Steven Forte, has numerous connections in the gambling world and has even been called upon to help authorities counter would-be cheaters. Also an author, Forte wrote the book Poker Protection - Cheating and World of Poker.
