Day 1b At the Bellagio
October 22, 2021
Day 1a of the World Poker Tour Festa Al Lago had so many top pros in attendance that it was hard to imagine anyone of note left to play Day 1b. What a nice surprise then that Day 1b would not only have Gus Hansen in the field, but also Kenny Tran, Howard Lederer, Nenad Medic, Isabelle Mercier, Chad Brown, Kristy Gazes, David Benyamine, Eugene Todd "Bro," Barry Greenstein, Mike "The Mouth" Matusow, and Haralabos Voulgaris.

Big Poker Sundays' fans have been longing to hear news of Herala-"Bob" again, but sadly his Day 1b left little to say as he busted before the end of the session. Other notable eliminations for Day 1b were Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi, Mark Seif, Patrik Antonius, Rhynie Campbell, Men Nguyen, Jeff Madsen, David Williams, and John Phan.

In all, 215 players started Day 1b and only 155 of them survived it. Those survivors will now continue on, where they will meet up with the 101 formidable survivors of Day 1a. Obviously this is still a tough, stacked field, and only 50 players will get a piece of the record-setting Festa Al Lago prize pool worth $5,354,400. Needless to say Wednesday's Day 2 should see some serious carnage.
