Party Poker Premier League Begins In London

Twelve of the top poker players in the world have converged in London to compete in the 2008 Party Poker Premier League. The Premier League is similar in form to the "Poker Superstars," with players battling in preliminary rounds to win points towards the final table. The twelve invited players in this year's league represent a truly international field. Juha Helppi, Dave 'The Devilfish' Ulliott, Tony G, Andy Black, Phil Hellmuth, Ian Frazer, Vicky Coren, Roland de Wolfe, Eddy Scharf, Annie Duke, Marcel Luske and Alex Kravchenko are all competing for a piece of the million dollar prize pool.

After one day of fierce competition, Tony G and Roland de Wolfe lead the field with 9 points each, followed closely by Alex Kravchenko (5 points) and Annie Duke (5 points).
