Final Table Set At Foxwoods
November 12, 2021
It's TV time in Connecticut for the World Poker Tour World Poker Finals and only six players remain of a starting field of 412.

Yesterday's short day saw the end of just four people but they were a tough four including, Tom Nguyen (10th), Henry Doiban (9th), Dimitri Haskaris (8th), and Anthony Newman (7th).

Unlike the other three finishers, who were all below the average at the start of play, Anthony Newman had a healthy stack and was in fifth place when the day began. Unfortunately for Newman, his stack just never got any traction and he was slowly whittled down until he was finally forced to make an all-in move with pocket fours. Newman's fours ran into Jonathan Little's King-Queen of spades and a queen on the flop effectively sealed Newman's fate. For the seventhbok position, Newman earned $85,283.

With the elimination of Newman the official WPT table was set and full of a tough squad of tournament rounders including three that WPT viewers know all to well:

-David "The Dragon" Pham (2,038,000). Pham has cashed in 12 previous WPT events and this will be his sixth final table. Despite never winning an event, Pham's WPT earnings are quickly approaching $2,000,000.

-Jonathan "Fiery Justice" Little (2,021,000). Little is a past WPT Player of the Year (season VI) and has more than $2,200,000 in WPT cashes. He is also the only one at the final table who has actually won a WPT open event, having taken down the Season VI Mirage Poker Showdown for a first prize worth $1,895,013.

-Mike "The Mouth" Matusow (816,000). Mike will be entering the final table as the short stack today but that shouldn't worry him given all his past WPT success. Matusow has over $1,300,000 in WPT cashes and has made 3 previous WPT open final tables. His best result was during the Season VI Bellagio Cup III, where he came in second for $671,320.

Of course there are three other guys at the final table as well, with perhaps not as many WPT accolades but just as much right to compete for the glory. The chip leader is Jonathan Jaffe with 4,131,000 in tournament chips, the fifth place player is Charles Marchese with 1,718,000 and sixth place is Jack Schanbacher with 1,592,000.

The World Poker Tour Foxwoods World Poker Open Final Table is set to kick off today at 5pm ET. For live updates, chip counts, stats, photos and videos with Amanda Leatherman visit www.worldpokertour.com.
