iMEGA Earns Crucial Stay In Kentucky Case
November 17, 2021
The Interactive Media Entertainment & Gaming Association (iMEGA) was rewarded for their efforts against Kentucky's attempted domain name seizure case Friday, when a three judge appeals panel agreed to postpone the forfeiture hearing ordered by a lower court until Dec. 12th. The stay was agreed to in order to allow the appeals court more time to study numerous briefs filed not only by iMEGA but also by the Interactive Gaming Council (IGC), an online gambling trade group.

The IGC is just one of an ever growing number concerned about Kentucky's perceived overreaching of authority, other groups actively involved in the fight include the Poker Players Alliance, Network Solutions, Electronic Frontier Foundation, the Center for Democracy and Technology and the Kentucky office of the ACLU.
