Those that feared that High Stakes Poker, the popular televised high stakes cash game on GSN, was doomed to cancellation will be glad to know that the show is slated to begin filming its fifth triumphant season next month, at the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino.

High Stakes Poker over the years has featured some of the best players in the game including Doyle Brunson, Antonio Esfandiari, Phil Hellmuth, Jennifer Harman, Gus Hansen, Daniel Negreanu, Patrik Antonious, Jamie Gold, and of course, Barry "LOL donkaments" Greenstein. With its mix of insider talk, huge pots, and crazy side bets, HSP is considered by many to be one of the most entertaining poker shows on television.

The entire fifth season of High Stakes Poker will be filmed Dec. 19th through the 21st in Las Vegas, Nevada. Further details regarding who's hosting, who's playing, and what games will be involved are still somewhat unknown; however, we do know the price of poker is going up. This year's HSP will raise the minimum buy-in from $100,000 to $200,000, guaranteeing bigger pots and even more pressure on poker's elite.
