Martin Rowe, a proud resident of North Sydney, beat out an international final table on Sunday to claim a cash prize worth AUD $1,000,000 (about $650,000 USD) at the Asia Pacific Poker Tour's Sydney Grand Final. With the win, Rowe became the APPT's newest champion and its biggest winner of the year.

This event, which was sponsored by, had 477 entrants including such stars as Chris Moneymaker, Gavin Griffin, Joe Hachem, and WSOP Main Event Champion Peter Eastgate. It was the final stop of the APPT Season, and with a total prize pool of over 2.8 million, it was undoubtedly its most successful.
