"Lockdown Tex" Conquers Winter Bayou Poker Challenge
December 11, 2021
The Harrah's New Orleans Winter Bayou Poker Challenge wrapped up this week with its final event, a $5,150 buy-in Main Event. This Big Easy tournament attracted 103 players (despite not being televised) and generated enough interest to create a total prize pool worth more than a half million dollars, and a first prize worth nearly $160,000.

That top prize, along with an $11,000 WSOP Main Event travel package, was eventually taken down by 21-year-old Justin "Lockdown Tex" Allen, after defeating Louisiana local Larry Price heads-up and earning him easily his biggest live score since turning legal two months ago.

The final table finish positions for the 2008 Winter Bayou Poker Challenge Main Event were as follows:

1st. Justin Allen
2nd. Larry Price
3rd. Matt Culberson
4th. Wil Payne
5th. Philip Sparta, Jr.
6th. Jeremy Gaubert
7th. Jake Bazeley
8th. Justin Jones
