Brent Roberts Wins WSOP-C, Harrah's Atlantic City

New York pro Brent Roberts earned the biggest score of his blooming tournament poker career yesterday when he successfully took down the Harrah’s Atlantic City World Series of Poker Circuit Championship event.   

Roberts, whose previous biggest cash was a fifth place during a WSOP preliminary event ($151,570), earned $280,940 for the win, along with a WSOP circuit ring and a $10,000 entry into the 2009 WSOP Main Event.  With this win, Robert’s lifetime tournament winnings have surpassed three-quarters of a million dollars. 

This year’s WSOP-C Harrah’s Atlantic City event, despite directly competing with the WPT Doyle Brunson Five Diamond World Poker Classic, managed to attract 179 players including some well known pros like Al Krux, Dan Shak and Bill Gazes.  The $5,150 buy-in event, ended up with a very healthy total prize pool worth $867,100. 

The Final Table finish positions for the 2008 WSOP-C Harrah’s Atlantic City Championship event, were as follows: 

1st.  Brent Roberts- $280,040

2nd.  Phillip Reed- $147,707

3rd.  Kyle Bowker- $86,710

4th.  Robert Mclaughlin- $69,368

5th.  Allen Bari- $52,026

6th.  Timothy Kelly- $43,355

7th.  Dwyte Pilgrim- $34,684

8th.  Scott Zakheim- $26,013

9th.  Alex Camejo- $17,341
