PCA Day 1A
January 6, 2022

The European Poker Tour, PokerStars.net Caribbean Adventure is in full effect on Paradise Island in the Bahamas, and as expected the first Day 1 was as huge as it was memorable.  660 players signed up to play the PCA’s first starting day, with that same amount or even more expected to play tomorrow.

It seemed every table during the fast paced Day 1a had at least one well-known pro sitting at it, making for a difficult day for even your most experienced tournament rounder.  A short list of top pros who were unable to survive the treacherous Day 1a waters would have to include Daniel Negreanu, Chris “Jesus” Ferguson, Terrance Chan, Chad Brown, Dennis Phillips, Isaac “WestmenloAA” Baron, David Pham, and PokerRoad Radio’s Gavin “The Caveman” Smith.

In all only 188 players survived of the nearly 700 person starting field, but in that significantly whittled down group quite a few exciting names remain including Vanessa Rousso, Greg Raymer, Ylon Schwartz, Jonathan Little, Grant Hinkle, Barry Greenstein and ex-PokerRoad Radio newsman Jeff “Mad Dog” Madsen - living large with over 160,000 in tournament chips.
