Ivey Accepts Durrr's Challenge On "Tuesdays With Ivey"
January 7, 2022

After less than a month of episodes, PokerRoad’s new feature “Tuesdays With Ivey” is already the talk of the poker world, thanks in large part to Phil Ivey using the new show as a platform to announce his acceptance of Tom “durrr” Dwan’s audacious open challenge.

For those few that still haven’t heard, internet poker superstar Tom “durrr” Dwan, set the forums on fire recently when he proposed a new bet that was open to all comers (with the one exception being to his friend Phil “OMGClayAiken” Galfond).  Dwan is laying a 3 to 1 price (or $500,000 to $1.5 million) that after 50,000 heads-up hands, at stakes of at least $200/$400, that he will be beating any competitor that is willing to step up.  If any challenger can end up ahead of Dwan by even a dollar, after these 50,000 hands, “durrr” will pay them $1.5 million.

There are few additional stipulations on the bet, but one insists that players accepting the wager be willing to play four online tables simultaneously, in order to get the 50,000 hands done in a reasonable amount of time (and possibly to give Dwan, a notorious multi-tabler, an edge).

Other players rumored to have expressed an interest in this opportunity, include Patrick Antonius and David Benyamine.

For more details on this historic challenge, check out the most recent episode of Tuesdays With Ivey, hosted as always, by PokerRoad’s Barry Greenstein.
