PokerStars Sunday Million Still Dominating
January 12, 2022

The weekly PokerStars Sunday Million proved once again why it’s the 500-pound gorilla of online events last Sunday when it attracted a staggering 8,268 players to compete.  This impressive number of entrants created a highly significant prize pool that eclipsed the $1.5 million tournament guarantee by more than $150,000.

The unadjusted first prize for the event was worth more than $200,000 however, thanks to a deal struck between the final two players; the actual paid out first prize was “only” $187,528.57 - by all accounts still a pretty good return for a $215 buy-in tournament.  That first prize was won by online player “livelikunger” after beating “dxu05” heads-up, once they had agreed upon the deal.

The final table finish positions for the PokerStars Sunday Million (1/11/09) were as follows:

1st.  livelikunger- $187,528.57*
2nd.  dxu05- $147,490.79*
3rd.  Kappe85- $91,774.80
4th.  U_TILT_ME- $74,412.00
5th.  chicokim- $57,876.00
6th.  g0lfa- $41,340.00
7th.  Sir_winalot9- $28,938.00
8th.  Tophandler- $19,016.40
9th.  Mexxximum1- $11,575.20

*based on an agreed upon chip chop deal+ $30,000 for the eventual winner.
