Battle In Biloxi: Down To 27
January 16, 2022

Day 2 of the World Poker Tour Southern Poker Championship, at the Beau Rivage Resort & Casino, was one to remember.

The goal for Day 2 was to pierce the money bubble, which meant the necessary elimination of 148 players, many of whom were well known tournament pros including Chris Bell, David Singer, Allen Kessler, Tiffany Michelle, Miami John Cernuto, Bill Edler, Greg Mueller, Clonie Gowen and PokerRoad’s Gavin Smith and Barry Greenstein.  The enormity of this task seemed to suggest it may be a fairly long day.  As it turned out though, that was a major underestimation.

Day 2 of the Southern Poker Championship, when all was said and done, lasted for over 16 hours.  The day began at noon central time in Mississippi and continued until Mike Leah, the unfortunate bubble boy, finally busted out at 4 o’clock in the morning.  It was a difficult second day and one that spelled the end to most of the well known pros in attendance.

A short list of the some few pros still in the hunt includes Bernard Lee, Vanessa Rousso, Ted Lawson, Jordon “iMsoLucky0” Morgan, Ben Fineman, Tony Cousineau and Hevad Khan.
