Aussie Millions Main Event: First Two Day Ones
January 19, 2022
This weekend marked the start of one of the most notoriously successful $10,000 buy-in tournaments not affiliated with a major tour - the Crown Casino Aussie Millions Main Event.

The first two Day 1 heats of this year's Aussie Millions saw quite a few familiar faces, many of whom have already been dispatched and sent back from whence they came including Chris Ferguson, John Hennigan, Ross Boatman, Julian Powell, Eric Seidel, James Potter, Jason Gray, and last year's Aussie Millions champion Alexander Kostritsyn.

In total, 391 players competed during the first two Day 1 heats, and only 176 survived to see Day 2. Notables among that group include Mel Judah, Tony G, Raymond Rahme, Annette Obrestad, Barney Boatman, Ivan Demidov, Michael "Timex" Mcdonald, Sorel Mizzi and PokerRoad's "rappin'" Jeff Madsen.

Day 1C begins either today or tomorrow, depending on what side of the Pacific you reside on (5:30 p.m. PST for us Yanks). For updates, photos and chip counts from a day that is rumored to bring Joe Hachem, Phil Laak, Jennifer Tilly and Gus Hansen check out www.pokernews.com.
