Battle In Biloxi: Wraps Up
January 19, 2022
The World Poker Tour Southern Poker Championship concluded this weekend with a final table made up of relative unknowns. Most of the players at the table did have quite a bit of tournament poker experience but all were new to the bright lights and craziness of a World Poker Tour final table.

The player with the least chance of being overwhelmed by this media heavy experience, unfortunately seventhbok'd the final table - PokerStars Pro Vanessa Rousso. This was the second time Vanessa bubbled a World Poker Tour final table (previous seventh in 2006 WPT World Championship), officially tying PokerRoad's Joe Sebok, in a record which he'd probably be only to happy to let her have (Vansevensa Rousso, Vanessa Rousevenso).

The winner of the WPT Southern Poker Championship was Allen Carter, who earned $1 million thanks to an extra $24,219 donated to first place by the hosting casino, Beau Rivage Resort & Casino. With the win, Carter also earned a $25,500 seat into the WPT World Championship at the end of the WPT season.

The final table finish positions for the WPT Southern Poker Championship were as follows:

1st. Allen Carter - $1,000,000
2nd. Bobby Suer - $501,028
3rd. Soheil Shamseddin - $263,725
4th. Hilbert Shirey- $184,607
5th. Tyler Smith - $134,500
6th. Chuck Kim - $105,490
