Jason Alexander, the iconic legend behind Seinfeld’s George Costanza, is now the newest PokerStars celebrity ambassador, according to a recent report from leading poker management company Poker Royalty. 

Alexander, an avid poker fan who has already competed in a number of large scale events, including the prestigious 2008 NBC National Heads-Up Poker Championship and multiple WSOP Main Events, will be joining the likes of Boris Becker, Mats Sundin and former Cy Young award winner Orel Hershiser as a live and online PokerStars sponsored player. 

“PokerStars has very graciously asked me to sign on as one of their official players. I am very flattered and happy to be playing for a real quality site and with the kind of professionals that remind me every day how truly mediocre I am at this game. But I'm learning. And now I can learn from some of the best,” said Alexander.        

The full financial details of his sponsorship arrangement have not been made public; however, what is clear is that the poker world will be seeing much more of Jason Alexander from now on.  Expect to see Alexander at this year’s 2009 World Series of Poker, on upcoming episodes of NBC’s Poker After Dark, in numerous big buy-in tournaments around the country, and of course just playing online as “J. Alexander” on PokerStars.com.
