Start Saving, There's News On The 2009 WSOP
January 26, 2022
Harrah's and the World Series of Poker have announced the dates and details for this year's WSOP, and once again there seem to be some substantial, and expensive, changes.

Although the rumor of no rebuy events at this year's series did come to fruition, it was also announced that 2009 will feature an exciting, one time only, $40,000 buy-in No Limit Hold 'em tournament, to commemorate the WSOP's 40th anniversary.

There will be a record 57 bracelet events at this year's WSOP, including: eight $10,000 buy-in "World Championship" events; the pro favorite $50,000 buy-in H.O.R.S.E. event; and the $10,000 Main Event - with four Day Ones, and once again a four month delay period, after play has reached the final nine.

All in all, it appears 2009 has the potential to be a fairly expensive series for tournament pros, even without them having to deal with the temptation of trying to "buy a bracelet," by competing in rebuy events.
