PokerStars Sunday Million Attracts Large Numbers Despite Competition
February 2, 2022

The major online real money poker sites like Full Tilt Poker, Cake Poker, and PokerStars are used to fighting each other for attention on Sundays (the biggest online poker day of the week), but competing with one of the biggest sporting events on the planet, well that’s a much bigger challenge.

PokerStars, the biggest of the online poker sites, successfully stepped up to that challenge yesterday and still managed to attract enough players to cover their $1.5 million posted guarantee for their Sunday Million tournament, despite directly competing with arguably one of the most dramatic Super Bowls ever.

PokerStars attracted a remarkable 7,513 players for their main tent pole event of the week, allowing them to payout the top 1,080 places.

The winner of the event, “huztlerCrew” earned $150,000 for taking down the tournament - a slightly smaller than expected prize thanks to a partial deal struck between the last three players. Ari "BodogAri" Engel officially took home third place, after being involved in the three-way chop.

The final Table finish positions for the PokerStars Sunday Million (2/1/09) were as follows:

1st.  huztlerCrew- $150,000.00*

2nd.  MCLegend- $127,518.22*

3rd.  BodogAri- $116,613.76*
