NBC National Heads-Up Poker Championship; What's Known So Far
February 10, 2022
Preliminary details regarding the fifth annual NBC National Heads-Up Poker Championship (NHUPC) have begun to trickle out, and although at this point the full list of invited players isn't known, there's still some interesting things to learn.

This 64-player, invitation only, heads-up tournament is traditionally one of the most highly anticipated events on the poker calendar and is always "must see" viewing for most if not all serious poker fans. Apparently this consistent success has not gone unnoticed at GoDaddy.com, as the company most known for their wild Super Bowl adds has agreed to be the presenting sponsor for this year's Championship.

"The popularity of poker has grown thanks in large part to television and the Internet. Being an industry leader for domain names and Web sites, we only sponsor the most exciting events. NBC and Caesars Palace are assembling a top-notch tournament with world-class players and I look forward to seeing some great action." -GoDaddy CEO & Founder Bob Parsons.

Some of those "world-class players" already known to be attending include 2008 WSOP Main Event Champion Peter Eastgate, Doyle Brunson, Phil Hellmuth, Johnny Chan, Phil Ivey, and last year's NHUPC Champion Chris "Jesus" Ferguson.

The 2009 NBC NHUPC will take place on March 6th through the 8th, at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, and will be covered by the reporting team of Leeann Tweeden, Craig Hummer and PokerRoad Radio's own Ali Nejad.
