FSN Continues Forward With The WPT
February 17, 2022
On the verge of one of their most anticipated events of the season, the L.A. Poker Classic, the World Poker Tour and Fox Sports Net have made an announcement which it seems can only help the long term stability of one of Poker's biggest brands.

The announcement, which came today via a joint press release between FSN and the WPT, shows FSN's desire to continue their relationship with the WPT into the foreseeable future by officially extending their television broadcast license through at least Season VIII.

"The World Poker Tour has a loyal and passionate fan base that has made the WPT one of the most popular programs on FSN. We're thrilled to be airing Season 8 and look forward to another great year of WPT championship poker." -FSN Executive Vice President George Greenberg.

With this announcement the WPT will continue to be shown on FSN, the nations leading provider of local sports, and the home to many MLB, NHL and NBA games - situation which firmly equates poker with many of the nations top sports, and one that appears to have many advantages for the WPT.

"Fox Sports Net and News Corporation have far exceeded our partnership expectations and we are thrilled to continue growing our strategic relationship. Airing our eighth season on the nation's prime sports network truly underscores the force behind the WPT brand and poker as a televised sport." -Steven Lipscomb, WPT Founder President and CEO.

New Season VII episodes of the World Poker Tour are currently running, and can be seen every Sunday night on FSN.
