Copenhagen Kicks Off
February 18, 2022

The European Poker Tour's Copenhagen stop has recently begun, and if the early numbers from the two Day Ones are any indication, it appears to already be quite a success.

462 players entered this Scandinavian leg of the EPT, each paying 50,000 Denmark Kroner (DKK) for the privilege (about $8,410 USD).  This built a total prize pool for the event worth DKK 22,176,000 and a first prize worth DKK 6,541,920 (roughly $1,101,000), according to updates provided by EPT sponsor PokerStars.com (www.pokerstarsblog.com).

Players who entered the Copenhagen event include Gus Hansen, Bertrand Grospellier, Dario Minieri, Boris Becker, Luca Pagano, Arnaud Mattern, Annette Obrestad, Isabelle Mercier, and WSOP Main Event Champion Peter Eastgate.

Day 2 of the EPT Copenhagen starts tomorrow and although Day 1b is not yet in the books, already we know many top players will be involved, including Noah Boeken, Luca Pagano, Trond Erik Eidsvig, and Thor Hansen - all of whom survived Day 1a.
