LAPC 10K H.O.R.S.E; Madsen Leads Heading Into Final Day
February 18, 2022
PokerRoad's own Jeff "Maddog" Madsen is the current chip leader in the $10,000 buy-in H.O.R.S.E event at the Commerce Casino, after two days of play that saw many world renowned players already hit the rail.

This special L.A. Poker Classic event began on Tuesday with a 96 player field that held many top professionals including Erik Seidel, Jennifer Harman, David Oppenheim, Chris Ferguson, Michael DeMichele, Mike Matusow, Gavin Smith, Allen Cunningham, Bill Edler, Barry Greenstein, Steve Sung, Jimmy Fricke, Cyndy Violette, and Jean-Robert Bellande.

Most of these players survived the first day of play at the Commerce; however, none of them survived the second, with the closest being Bellande who went out 17th last night, right before the end of Day 2 play.

With Event #29 down to two tables, Tournament Director Matt Savage called it a night, leaving us one more day to eliminate 15 more players from the group of Gavin Griffin, Scotty Nguyen, Kenny Tran, Howard Lederer, Amnon Filippi, and November Niner David "Chino" Rheem, who currently sits in third place with 159,500 in chips, after coming into Day 2 as the chip leader. Madsen sits with almost exactly 200,000 more than that, and 100,000 more than the current second place player, Matt Graham.

The top 8 places will make the money today in this event, and thanks to a total prize pool worth $921,600, first place will pay a healthy $340,993.

Madsen, still playing a rush that helped him win LAPC Event #24 earlier this week, has to be seen as the current favorite to take down that prize (especially given his tendency to win these things in clumps) despite a world class group of players still in the hunt - including Rheem, whose been on a bit of a heater himself lately.

To catch the conclusion of this exciting event, open a second window and visit for live updates, chip counts and pictures, when play begins again at 12:30 p.m. PST.
