Buzz Builds For Bay 101
March 12, 2022

It may still be a weekend away, but already there's some real excitement building for the next stop on the World Poker Tour, the Bay 101 Shooting Star.  Even a quick search of the popular PokerRoad forums can find many members discussing plans for visiting the event, as well as which players they think have the best chance of going deep.

This kind of excitement is not unprecedented, the $10,000 buy-in Bay 101 tournament is almost as well known for its amazingly enthusiastic rail of local poker fans, as it is for its unique structure which features 50 bounty players, or "Shooting Stars," each worth $5,000 to the player who knocks them out of the tournament.

This year's 50 bounty players include Allen Cunningham, Erick Lindgren, Mike Matusow, Phil Laak, T.J. Cloutier, Antonio Esfandiari, Scotty Nguyen, Annie Duke, Phill Hellmuth, Erik Seidel, Robert Williamson, Jennifer Harman and PokerRoad's own Gavin Smith, Joe Sebok and Barry Greenstein.

Given that many of the the PokerRoad Radio crew will have targets on their back during the event, next week's PRR broadcasts should be even more entertaining than usual, as host Ali Nejad does his best to break down all the tournament action as it unfolds.  Don't miss a single episode as Poker Road Radio begins again this Monday.
