Poker Sites Attacked
February 22, 2022
According to the Shadowserver Foundation, numerous poker sites including Full Tilt Poker, Titan Poker and CD Poker have become recent victims of DDOS attacks. DDOS, or Distributed Denial of Service, is a type of attack where hackers flood servers with traffic from thousands of locations at once, effectively slowing down or crashing the servers, thus impairing the web sites capabilities. Many players have reported substantial slowdowns or disconnects on their favorite poker sites in recent days, which are most likely due to these attacks.

At the moment it is not apparent why these attackers are targeting poker sites and as of yet none of the poker sites affected have released any statements in regards to the matter. However, it has been reported by Shadowserver that all the sites affected have now taken appropriate countermeasures to protect themselves from these nefarious types of attacks.
