EPT Crowns Its Second Female Champion

As yet more proof of the emergence of women as a dominating force in tournament poker, German poker player Sandra Naujoks took down the European Poker Tour German Open (sponsored by PokerStars.com) over the weekend, defeating a tough final table and earning an impressive top prize worth EUR917,000 (about $1,190,000 USD).

Sandra's final table consisted of, among others, Luca Pagano, William Thorson and Mike "Timex" McDonald - an imposing list of players that do a good job to represent the overall quality of the 667 person starting field in Dortmund.

The final table finish positions for the 2009 EPT German Open were as follows:

1st. Sandra Naujoks - EUR917,000

2nd. Holger Kanisch - EUR533,000

3rd. Marc Gork - EUR307,000

4th. Johan Storakers - EUR237,000

5th. Michael McDonald - EUR197,000

6th. Luca Pagano - EUR153,000

7th. William Thorson - EUR116,000

8th. Cengizcan Ulusu - EUR83,500
