Wynn Classic Main Event
March 17, 2022

With much of the poker world focused on San Jose, California and the Bay 101 Shooting Star Championship, expectations weren't the highest for this year's Wynn Classic main event, scheduled to begin at the same time in Las Vegas.

Of course those who expected a smallish field for the start of yesterday's $10,000 Wynn Classic main event may have underestimated Vegas' young, high stakes gamblers and their seemingly never ending thirst for action.

Surprisingly over 100 players registered for yesterday's Wynn Classic main event, among them such well known pros as Dustin Woolf, Dutch Boyd, Michael DeMichele, Jean-Robert Bellande, Isaac Haxton, Sorel Mizzi, Jimmy Fricke and PokerRoad's All Strategy co-host Justin Bonomo.

By the end of Day 1 play, nearly half of that field had been sent to the rail leaving only 54 players to return for Day 2. Players still in contention for the $348,038 first prize include Bonomo, Fricke, Mizzi, Andrew Robl, Steve Billirakis and Marc Karam.
