Brecher Wins Both The Bay And The Bounty
March 23, 2022

After 12+ hours of play and more than 300 hands, the final table of the World Poker Tour Bay 101 Shooting Star Championship finally concluded early Saturday morning with Steve Brecher eliminating Kathy Liebert - the last "Shooting Star" of the event and his final opponent at the table.

For the victory Brecher won over $1,000,000, an entry into the $25,000 WPT Championship, and the $5,000 bounty for knocking out Liebert.

Second place earned Liebert $550,000, her largest WPT cash to date and the second largest cash of her tournament career.  Hopefully while autographing her "Shooting Star" T-shirt, directly after being denied yet another WPT final table victory, Kathy could take some solace in the fact that with this second place cash she can now claim tournament winnings in excess of $5.5 million, easily more than any other female poker player on the planet and quite a bit more than most of the men.

The final table finish positions for the 2009 WPT Bay 101 Shooting Star Championship were as follows:

1st.  Steve Brecher - $1,025,500

2nd. Kathy Liebert - $550,000

3rd.  Chris Moore - $291,500

4th.  Tony Behari - $230,000

5th.  Thao Le - $180,000

6th.  Chau Vu - $135,000
