Durrrr Challenge Changes; Antonius Takes The Lead
March 23, 2022

According to numerous online sites tracking the now famous "Durrrr" Online Poker Challenge," like PokerNews and the aptly named, after a little over 5,500 hands Patrik Antonius has taken the lead away from Tom "durrrr" Dwan and now sits slightly ahead (relatively speaking) by about $108,000.

Dwan and Antonius (the first of numerous players to agree to Dwan's wager) have now played more than 10% of the 50,000 required hands, however, given the stakes their playing at (4 tables of $200/$400 PL Omaha) it's still too soon to determine a clear favorite.

Although the pace from which these two meet to play seems to be increasing, after more than a month since the first hand of this challenge was dealt, it's become increasingly apparent that it may take more than a quarter of a year for one of these challenges to reach completion.  If this is the case, that could mean that those waiting in the wings, like PokerRoad's Phil Ivey and David Benyamine, may not finish their attempts until some time in 2010 (given the present rate of speed).

No wonder Ivey seems less and less interested in talking about Dwan during Tuesdays With Ivey (Phil's weekly conversations with Barry Greenstein, available for listening right here at PokerRoad).
